If you are using Internet Explorer, it is recommended that you right click on the link and press "save target as".


Demon Cam along with your PC camera can be used for spying or security while gone. When motion is detected through the camera, it is saved as either JPG images, BMP images or a AVI movie. If the JPG images option chosen, it will also record the date and time on each image. You can also convert the AVI movie to BMP images or the BMP images to a AVI movie.


Connect: Connects the software to your camera and starts it.

Disconnect: Disconnects your camera from the software and stops recording.

Start Recording: Starts the motion dection and starts recording in the format that you choose under "Save As". When you first start the motino dection, you will get a pop box with the amount of sensitivity that you want to use. The lower the number, the more it will detect something. The higher the number, the more movement there has to be before there is a detection.

StopRecording: Stops the motion dection and stops recording.


Exit: Quits the program


Webcam Setup

Source: Displays a dialog box in which the you can control the video source. The Video Source dialog box might contain controls that select input sources; change the hue, contrast, brightness of the image; and modify the video quality before digitizing the images into the frame buffer.

Format: Displays a dialog box in which the you can select the video format. The Video Format dialog box might be used to select image dimensions, bit depth, and hardware compression options. The dialog box depends on the driver of the Video Capture Device in use.

Compression: Displays a dialog box in which you can select a compressor to use during the capture process. The list of available compressors can vary with the video format selected in the capture driver's Video Format dialog box.

Display: If successful, displays a dialog box in which you can set or adjust the video output. This dialog box might contain controls that affect the hue, contrast, and brightness of the displayed image, as well as key color alignment. The controls in this dialog box do not affect digitized video data; they affect only the output or redisplay of the video signal. The Video Display dialog box is unique for each capture driver. Some capture drivers might not support a Video Display dialog box.

Motion Detection

Save As - defaults to JPG Image

JPG Image: When "Motion Detection" is started and there is a detection of motion, it saves what is being shown through the webcam at that time to a .jpg image and numbers them from 1 and up. It also save the date and time on each image. You can view what images are being saved by pressing the "View->JPG Images".

BMP Image: When "Motion Detection" is started and there is a detection of motion, it saves what is being shown through the webcam at that time to a .bmp image and numbers them from 1 and up. You can view what images are being saved by pressing the "View->BMP Images".

AVI Movie: When "Motion Detection" is started and there is a detection of motion, it saves what is being shown through the webcam at that time to a .avi movie. You can view the movie by pressing the "View->AVI Movie".


View

JPG Images: If you pressed for "JPG Image" under "Save As", you can use this to see all the .jpg images that have been saved.

BMP Images: If you pressed for "BMP Image" under "Save As", you can use this to see all the .bmp images that have been saved.

AVI Movie: If you pressed for "AVI Movie" under "Save As", you can use this to view the avi movie that has been saved with your default avi player.

BMP to AVI: If you pressed "BMP to AVI" under "Convert", you can use this to view the avi movie that has been made with your default avi player.

AVI to BMP: If you pressed "AVI to BMP" under "Convert", you can use this to see all the .bmp images that have been extracted from the avi movie.


Convert

BMP to AVI: This allows an avi movie to be extracted into multiple .bmp images frame by frame. You can see all the .bmp images that have been made by pressing "View->BMP to AVI". You must have used "Save As->AVI Movie" before this can be used.

AVI to BMP: This creates an avi movie from the .bmp images. You can view the avi movie by pressing "View->BMP to AVI". You musst have used "Save As->BMP Image" before this can be used.
